Products Description of Sodium fluorosilicate CAS#16893-85-9
Sodium fluorosilicate appears as white crystals, crystalline powder, or colorless hexagonal crystals. It is odorless and tasteless, with a relative density of 2.68 and hygroscopic properties. It is soluble in solvents such as ethyl ether but insoluble in alcohol, and its solubility in acids is higher than in water. In alkaline solutions, it decomposes to form sodium fluoride and silica. When heated to about 300 °C, it breaks down into sodium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride.

Product Application of Sodium fluorosilicate CAS#16893-85-9
Sodium hexafluorosilicate is used as an additive for water fluoridation, as a raw material for opal glass, and in ore refining. It is also applied in the production of other fluoride chemicals such as sodium fluoride, sodium hexafluoroaluminate, potassium hexafluorosilicate, ammonium fluoride, and calcium fluoride. In addition, it is utilized as a flotation agent, a component for wet etching, a wood preservative, and as a brazing flux and welding compound. It also serves as an active ingredient in concrete.
