Product Application of Erythritol (CAS# 149-32-6)
Erythritol is a polyol-type sweetener produced via the fermentation of glucose. This glucose-rich raw material is derived from the enzymatic hydrolysis of starch.
With a sweetness level equivalent to 60-70% of that of sucrose, erythritol boasts outstanding heat and acid stability, along with high digestive tolerance. What's more, it has an ultra-low caloric value of merely 0.2 kcal per gram. Notably, it is the sole polyol that is manufactured through a fermentation process.
Ideal as a sucrose substitute, erythritol finds wide application in the production of confectionery, beverages, and desserts.
