Uses: Bactericide, fungicide, organic synthesis. This product is a raw material for manufacturing the antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol and rubber antioxidants. It is also an important basic raw material for the production of pharmaceutical TMP and dye clindamycin sulfonic acid. P-cresol is an intermediate chemical in the production of the fungicide methyl thiophanate, the insecticides flufenoxuron and fenpropathrin, and also an intermediate in the production of the antioxidant additives 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde. P-cresol is used as a raw material for manufacturing the antioxidant 264 (2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol) and rubber antioxidants. In the plastics industry, it can be used to manufacture phenolic resins and plasticizers. In medicine, it is used as a disinfectant. In addition, it can be used as a raw material for dyes and pesticides.
