Additionally, Isomalt serves as an anti-caking agent, glazing agent, and bulking agent in low-calorie toffees, fruit spreads, smoked and frozen meat and fish products, infant formulas, lozenges, pan-coated tablets, mineral and multivitamin supplements, and jams. The compound enhances flavor transfer in specific food applications, while its gradual dissolution post-consumption prolongs the lasting time of candies made from it. Unlike other polyols, Isomalt does not induce an unpleasant cooling effect, making it particularly advantageous for inclusion in flavored applications and baked products.
