Product Description of Vitamin B12 CAS#68-19-9
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin and commonly abbreviated as VB12, is a naturally occurring member of the vitamin B group and belongs to a class of cobalt-containing complexes. The trivalent cobalt ion within its structure is similar to porphyrin and is positioned at the center of a corrin ring.
It is the largest and most structurally complex vitamin identified to date, and the only one that contains a metal ion. Vitamin B12 forms red crystals, which is why it is often referred to as the “red vitamin.”
