Zinc Sulphate CAS#7733-02-0
High-Purity Water-Soluble Crystals – White crystalline zinc sulfate with excellent solubility, commonly supplied as stable heptahydrate (ZnSO₄·7H₂O).
Thermal Dehydration Stability – Gradually loses water above 30 °C and converts to anhydrous form at high temperature, offering predictable behavior during processing.
Traditional & Industrial Applications – Formerly known as white vitriol, widely used as a mordant in dyeing and as a styptic for bleeding control.
Reliable Chemical Performance – Produced from zinc sulfide ore with consistent quality for laboratory, pharmaceutical, and industrial uses.
Products Description of Zinc Sulphate CAS#7733-02-0
Zinc sulphate is a white, crystalline, water-soluble compound produced by heating zinc sulfide ore in air, followed by dissolution and recrystallization. It is most commonly supplied as the heptahydrate (ZnSO₄·7H₂O) with a relative density of about 1.9.
When heated above 30 °C, it gradually loses water to form the hexahydrate, and above 70 °C converts to the monohydrate. The anhydrous salt forms at around 280 °C and decomposes at temperatures above 500 °C. Formerly known as white vitriol, zinc sulphate is widely used as a mordant in dyeing and as a styptic for controlling bleeding.

Product Application of Zinc Sulphate CAS#7733-02-0
Zinc sulphate is widely used as a component of culture media for in vitro fungal hyphal growth assays and as a nutritional supplement in expression media together with IPTG for the production of zinc-containing proteins. It is also applied in analytical laboratories in combination with barium hydroxide for deproteinization of whole blood, plasma, or serum samples by barium sulfate precipitation, producing a clear supernatant suitable for glucose determination using the Somogyi–Nelson method.
