Product Description of Trisodium Phosphate (CAS No. 7601-54-9)
Trisodium Phosphate dodecahydrate appears as white to colorless hexagonal crystals with a density of approximately 1.62 g/cm³. It melts at around 75 °C under rapid heating conditions and partially loses its water of crystallization at 100 °C, while retaining the final water molecule even at higher ignition temperatures.
The product is readily soluble in water, with a solubility of about 28 g per 100 mL at 20 °C, forming a strongly alkaline solution. A 0.1 M aqueous solution has a pH of approximately 11.5. Trisodium Phosphate is insoluble in alcohol and is widely used in applications requiring a strong alkaline agent and effective water solubility.
