Hydroxyethyl CelluloseCAS#9004-62-0
High Purity and Quality: Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) industrial grade has a purity of ≥99%, ensuring consistent performance in applications.
Stable Viscosity Across pH Range: It maintains stable viscosity in solutions with pH 2–12, making it reliable for various industrial and chemical processes.
Water Solubility: HEC is soluble in cold water, enabling easy preparation and formulation in aqueous systems.
Thermal and Chemical Stability: It is thermally stable up to its decomposition point (260 °C) and exhibits chemical stability, though it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and heavy metal salts.
Products Description of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose CAS#9004-62-0
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) industrial grade has a purity of ≥99% and appears as a white to off-white powder that is odorless, tasteless, and hygroscopic. It decomposes at a melting point of 260 °C, and its boiling point is reached upon decomposition. The compound has negligible vapor pressure at 25 °C and a relative density of 1.35 at 20 °C. HEC is soluble in cold water but insoluble in ethanol, ether, and hot water. It is chemically stable, with viscosity remaining consistent over a pH range of 2–12, though it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and heavy metal salts.

Product Application of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose CAS#9004-62-0
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is used in the cracking method to extract polymerized dispersing agents such as oil–water-based gel fracturing fluids, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride. It serves as a latex thickening agent in the paint industry, a humectant in the electronics industry, and a cement anti-coagulant and water-retention agent in construction. Additionally, it is used for glazing in the ceramic industry and as a binder in toothpaste. HEC is also widely applied in printing and dyeing, textiles, paper, pharmaceuticals, health products, food, cigarettes, pesticides, and fire extinguishing agents.
