Hydramethylnon is employed in baits for the targeted control of agricultural and household ants (Formicidae), particularly species such as Camponotus, Iridomyrmex, Monomorium, Solenopsis, Pogomyrmex, and Pheidole megacephala. It is also effective against cockroaches (Blattellidae), including Blatta, Blattella, Periplaneta, and Supella species. Due to its slow-acting nature, worker ants carry the bait back to the nest, ultimately reaching and eliminating the queen.
