Gentamicin sulfate CAS#1405-41-0
Broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic effective against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Versatile administration routes: suitable for systemic or local infections, oral use for intestinal infections, and ophthalmic use for conjunctivitis and keratitis.
Can be used prophylactically or therapeutically in combination with other antibiotics (e.g., metronidazole or clindamycin) to reduce infection rates in colon surgery.
Shares a similar antibacterial spectrum with kanamycin, making it a reliable option for treating various bacterial infections.
Products Description of Gentamicin Sulfate CAS#1405-41-0
Gentamicin sulfate is a glycoside bactericidal antibiotic composed of amino sugars and ligands. As the sulfate form of gentamicin, it exhibits an antibacterial spectrum similar to kanamycin. It is primarily used to treat systemic or local infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In ophthalmology, it is applied for conditions such as conjunctivitis and keratitis. It can also be administered orally for intestinal infections or as a preoperative preparation for colon surgery. Additionally, it may be combined with metronidazole or clindamycin to help reduce postoperative infection rates in colon surgery.

Product Application of Gentamicin Sulfate CAS#1405-41-0
Gentamicin sulfate is clinically used to treat sepsis, respiratory tract infections, biliary tract infections, purulent peritonitis, intracranial infections, urinary tract infections, and bacillary dysentery caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Klebsiella, Proteus, and other sensitive bacteria.
Gentamicin binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, causing errors in codon reading and blocking the transfer of peptidyl-tRNA from the receptor site to the donor site. Its bactericidal effect against Pseudomonas involves binding to the outer membrane of the cell, displacing cations, destabilizing the membrane, and creating pores on the cell surface. Its antibacterial spectrum covers Gram-negative bacteria as well as Staphylococcus and other Gram-positive bacteria.
It is widely used for the treatment of sepsis, urinary tract infections, Staphylococcus infections, endocarditis, and other bacterial diseases.
