Product Details

Product Description of Epichlorohydrin (CAS No. 106-89-8)

Epichlorohydrin is a key chemical intermediate used in the production of glycerol and as a primary raw material for epoxy resins, fiberglass, electrical insulation materials, and nitroglycerin explosives. It is also widely applied in the manufacture of surfactants, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, coatings, adhesives, ion-exchange resins, plasticizers, and various glycidyl and glycerol derivatives.

Epoxy resins based on epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A offer excellent adhesion, low shrinkage, strong chemical resistance, and high stability, making them ideal for coatings, adhesives, reinforcement, and casting applications. In addition, chlorohydrin rubber produced from epichlorohydrin provides good oil resistance, solvent stability, and enhanced flexibility at low temperatures, outperforming many conventional rubbers in specialized uses.
