Methanol CAS#67-56-1
Fundamental Industrial Alcohol
Methanol is the simplest saturated monohydric alcohol and an essential organic chemical widely used as a solvent, fuel, antifreeze, and chemical intermediate.Excellent Solvent Compatibility
Fully miscible with water, ethanol, ether, benzene, ketones, and many organic solvents, methanol offers outstanding versatility in chemical processing and industrial formulations.High Volatility & Efficient Performance
With a low boiling point (64.5 °C) and high vapor pressure, methanol provides rapid evaporation and efficient heat transfer in fuel and antifreeze applications.Strict Safety & Handling Requirements
As a highly flammable and toxic liquid, methanol requires careful storage and handling, with proper controls to prevent inhalation, ingestion, and fire hazards.
Product Description of Methanol (CAS No. 67-56-1)
Methanol, also known as wood alcohol, is the simplest monohydric alcohol and an important basic organic chemical. It is a colorless, transparent, highly flammable and volatile liquid with a mild alcoholic odor. Methanol is toxic and must be handled with care, as ingestion can cause serious injury.
With a melting point of –97.8 °C and a boiling point of 64.5 °C, methanol exhibits high volatility and excellent solvent properties. It is fully miscible with water and most organic solvents and is generally non-corrosive to metals at room temperature.
Methanol is widely used as a solvent, fuel, antifreeze, neutralizing agent, and as a key raw material in chemical manufacturing.
