Antimony(III) acetate is widely used as a catalyst in the production of synthetic fibers. It is also employed as a catalyst in the one-pot, three-component synthesis of multigram quantities of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols through the condensation of aldehydes, 2-naphthol, and acetamide under solvent-free conditions at ambient temperature.
